CLEAN OUT THE GUTTERS: Gutters may not seem like a big deal, but water damage is! All summer long, leaves, dirt and debris have been collecting in your gutters. If your gutters are not cleaned out before the snow and cold hits, ice dams can form. These dams can cause water to collect and seep into your home. Water damage, if left unchecked, can become a HUGE and EXPENSIVE problem. Take the time to clean out your gutters before winter sets in.
CHECK FOR AIR LEAKS: As the air has already gotten colder, you’ve probably noticed your home has too. Check those window and door seals for any air leaks and replace where needed. Not only, will this keep you and your family warmer this winter, but your energy bill will thank you too!
CHECK THE FURNACE: You probably haven’t even thought about your furnace for the last few months, but now is the time to show it some TLC. Trust us, you don’t want your furnace to go out in the middle of our Minnesota winters! Change out the filter and get it inspected now to avoid future issues, possible fire hazards, and poor air flow.
GET YOUR DUCTS IN A ROW: Did you know that you can lose A LOT of heat if your air ducts are poorly insulated and poorly sealed. No one wants a cold home with high energy bills! Double check that those ducts are sealed!
